About the Role
Gardner Smith IT is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for a project-based remote role supporting clients in Australia. The engineer will lead cloud migration projects from VMware to Microsoft Azure (and potentially AWS), integrating hybrid workloads on Hyper-V.

Key Responsibilities

• Design scalable cloud architectures on Azure / AWS

• Plan and execute VM and data migrations using Azure Migrate, HCX, or CloudEndure

• Manage hybrid VMware + Hyper-V environments

• Implement security, identity, and compliance best practices

• Produce documentation and train internal IT teams

Requirements

• 7+ years in cloud or systems engineering

• Strong Azure cloud & VMware experience

• Skilled in PowerShell, Azure CLI, and automation

• Familiarity with VPNs, firewalls, and hybrid connectivity

• Azure/AWS certifications are a plus
